Sending Photographs by Post
We are very happy to receive your original prints, in fact we prefer it, so we can make the highest resolution scan which will be best for us to work from. Send your photographs, packed well to avoid any bending, by Royal Mail Tracked and Signed-For Post or an alternative tracked postal service if preferred. Enclose all your contact details – name, address, email address, telephone number together with any special instructions. We will acknowledge receipt as soon as we receive your packet. We take every care with your photographs once they are in our possession treating them with the same respect and attention as we do our own. They are stored securely throughout the process and then always returned to you by Royal Mail Tracked 24 Signed-for post. We cannot accept responsibility for loss or damage however caused while your pictures are in our possession, or in transit to you. Sending your pictures to us denotes your acceptance of these terms.
Estimates for restorations can often be given on receipt of your scanned photograph. Low resolution scans are often acceptable for initial estimates but in some cases, higher resolution scans may be requested.
Your image should be scanned in colour, even if it’s a black and white photograph, at 600dpi resolution (dots per inch). If your scanner has any ‘auto’ settings, such as auto tone, please turn all these off.
Any quotation we provide is valid for three months from its initial date. Any additional work requested will be quoted before being carried out. In certain circumstances, where there is extensive facial restoration required, we charge a 50% fee if we are unable to create a likeness with which you are happy. If you decide not to proceed with our quotation and you have provided us with original prints or negatives, we will return your originals to you via Royal Mail Tracked 24 post at no charge to you.
By agreeing with us to proceed with the work, it is seen a commitment between both parties. For us to provide a restored image and for the client to work with us, to bring the order to completion and payment. We will happily make additional revisions to an image upon request (within reason, and to a level of restoration that the image will allow). Any major reworking or additional requests not included in the original quote will be quoted at extra cost. Restorations are priced based on the level of damage and the amount of time it will take for us to achieve the best result. See our Pricing for full details.
Should your restored photo(s) not match your expectations; we will work with you to fix any issues until you are satisfied with the result. In the rare event that we are not able to meet your requirements, you will not be charged for the work. We evaluate all requests before undertaking any work and reserve the right to refuse a project if we feel that we will be unable to achieve a satisfactory result. In these cases, if you have provided us with original prints or negatives, we will return your originals to you via Royal Mail Tracked 24 post at no charge to you.
Photo Restoration: The link to the restored proofs is normally sent to you within 10 working days of the acceptance of our quotation. If you have a specific deadline for completion of the work we will always do our best to meet it and if this is within 7 working days of receipt of your photograph or acceptance of our quotation we will apply a 25% surcharge on the cost of the restoration.

We reserve the right to charge any legal fees incurred if a valid invoice remains unpaid 21 days after it’s payment due date, unless we have agreed special terms prior to this.
