Your Photographs Forever in 5 Simple Steps!

Shoebox1web

  1. You Find

Set some time aside to select the photograph(s) that need attention. Don’t be concerned about what you might see on close inspection – we are able to correct pretty much all forms of damage including blotches, scratches, fading, creases, tears or missing pieces. Sometimes photographs can get stuck within a frame or album in which case don’t panic! We are very happy to receive the picture in its mounted form and work from there, reducing the risk of causing further damage through removal.

There is no minimum order quantity, and we are very happy to work on single pictures. If you have more but are unsure about how and when you would like them restored then feel free to send the batch and we will create a digital library of your images – from which you can choose to have one or more restored at any time in the future.

  1. You Share

You’re probably looking for an estimate from us initially, which we are happy to provide once we have seen your picture. You can either take a photograph of it with your smartphone and email or text it to us for immediate feedback or you can post it to us by recorded delivery for a more detailed appraisal. We recommend sending your original to us so that we can use our optimised equipment and settings to capture the image, giving us the best starting point for restoration. If you would rather scan the photograph yourself then please follow our guide which you can download here.

We are able to receive and sign for deliveries 7 days a week and once we are in possession of your materials you can be sure that they will be carefully handled and securely stored. We can expedite return to you if required or work to special instructions should the restoration be a gift.

  1. We Advise

We’ll use our experience to assess your photograph and then set out a clear proposal as to what needs to be done to achieve a full restoration and the very best end result. Our optimisation techniques, which follow our scanning process, can often radically improve a worn or faded photograph and may show more extensive restoration to be unnecessary. If further enhancement or repairs are needed due to marking, creases or tears then we will set out a clear quotation based on our price guide, which you will find here.

We’ll show you the results of our high resolution scanning and share a proposal that will provide you with a clear understanding of what we can do for you and how much it will cost. If you do not wish to go ahead then we will return your photograph to you by recorded delivery and you will owe us nothing.

  1. We Restore

The more you can tell us about the important elements of your photograph, the better! Who are the most meaningful figures? Is there a note or marking on the back that you would like us to include on the front of the restored version? Any or all of these sorts of details can help how we approach composition, colours and backgrounds. And if you don’t know then don’t worry – we’re also pretty good at doing the detective work that can make the details authentic.

We schedule restoration work for completion within 14 days but can work to much tighter timescales if you have a pressing deadline to meet. We don’t charge any more for this and will work closely with you to ensure prints intended for gifts or memorials are delivered on time and with discretion.

  1. You Review

We will create a personal online gallery for you, and you will be able to compare your original and restored photographs on your screen and let us know you’re happy with the results. If you are unsure about finishing (in black and white or sepia or perhaps as a tighter crop for example) we will create alternatives for you to see and choose from before committing to prints.

We are sure that you will be delighted with the results of your restoration, but should you require any amendments then we continue to work on your photograph and review it with you using the gallery system. We never ask for payment unless you are completely happy with the final results.
