Back Up Your Memories
Our photographs are completely irreplaceable, making them one of the most valuable things that belong to us. Maybe you think that because your photos are stored away or displayed in frames around the house, that they are safe from harm? Sadly our physical photos are deteriorating all the time and because this tends to happen slowly over a long period of time, more often than not we don’t realise until the deterioration has become very severe. This might be due to fading in the sun or being stored in less than ideal conditions causing mould and cracks. Not only are the photos deteriorating but they are also susceptible to being lost or misplaced or even accidental damage. This is why digitising your photos is crucial. One of the great benefits of todays technologies is that your old precious photos can now be safely ‘backed up’ on your computer or phone, allowing you to rest easy knowing they are protected from loss or damage.
Re-Connect With Your Past
The oldest surviving photograph was taken in 1826 by Joseph Nicéphore Niépce, meaning we can look back to a moment 200 years in the past. Isn’t that amazing? Whilst everyones photo collection is unique they all share the same power – a magical ability to transport us back to significant moments in time. Whether its from the day of your wedding or a photo of a loved one who is no longer with us, as you look at that photo so many feelings come rushing back. This connection to family, friends, beloved pets and places, and the ability to re-live those special moments in time is invaluable. For every photo there is a person behind that photo who chose to take it. They chose to capture that specific moment in time for a reason, whether its to be re-lived or admired, and we are here to help bring it back to its former glory so you can enjoy it the way it was intended.
Invest In Future Generations
We are lucky today that the majority of photos are taken digitally, meaning that they are automatically stored somewhere safely. After we’ve pressed the button we barely have to give it a second thought, and we certainly don’t have to worry that the photos we have taken might become lost or damaged. However, there are nearly 200 years worth of photos that were taken before the ‘cloud’ was even invented, and they deserve to be saved for now and the future generations to come to ensure we can all stay connected to our past.
A Quality Bespoke Service
Unlike the majority of other photo restoration services we (where possible) are able to scan your original photo ourselves on our high quality Epson Perfection V85O Pro scanner – it’s just as fancy as it sounds! This guarantees an exact copy of your photo, allowing us to get the closest likeness to your original. Though other services may sound quicker or more convenient by telling you to ‘scan’ your photo with your phone and upload it or send it to them by WhatsApp, what they don’t tell you is how much this interferes with the details of your photo, drastically reducing the quality compared to the original you have with you at home. Sadly most people wouldn’t know that this has happened until it’s too late and it comes to enlarging or printing your newly restored photo and suddenly the loss of detail becomes very apparent. You can see an example here of a close up from one our customers own scans (on the right) with our scan (on the left) – this really shows just how much detail can be lost from using low quality equipment!
We Understand The Art Of Restoration
Restoring photos digitally is an art. It is not an easy task and it takes a lot of skill, patience and hard work. We never rush the restoration process and we give every photo the time required to bring it back to looking its absolute best. At Photographs Forever we share a true love for photography and the arts. Richard became the family photographer at the age of 10 when he recieved his first camera, giving him over 60 years of experience in the field. You can read all about Richard’s long history with photography in our About section. Amy has been into art since she was old enough to hold a pencil, spending hours and hours drawing as a child. She excelled in art through school with one of her pencil drawings being displayed in the Mall Gallery in London and eventually graduated college with an A in Photography. She continued into the arts studying Art Film at University and graduating with a first class honors degree in 2021. Amy’s passion for art is now channeled into her restoration work everyday, with an eye for detail and unique ability to bring photos back to life, simultaneously enhancing them whilst maintaining the authenticity that makes them so special. With us you are guaranteed experience and a high quality finish that you will struggle to find elsewhere – even if we do say so ourselves!

We feel priveleged to be chosen to look after such special and sentimental heirlooms, and the reactions to seeing your photos restored reinforces our passion everyday.
